Miami, FL Travel Guide

I recently went on a trip to Miami, FL and I want to share an updated Miami travel guide. My first one was written on my first blog back in 2018. If you’re interested, you can read that one here - on my old Wordpress site that I’m not sure how to event access anymore!

We had so much fun on this trip! We stayed at the Hilton Downtown Miami and it was beautiful - highly recommend it! I’ve linked the website here. We had a rooftop pool, there was a restaurant and bar inside as well as a Starbucks. Everything was so nice, the food was very good, and the staff was incredibly friendly. It was also a good location for us as we could walk to quite a few restaurants and bars.

One of the resturants/bars that we LOVED was the Escotico Tiki Bar. The drinks were so fun and it was a close walk from our hotel - we actually ended up here two nights of our stay! The dumplings and conch fritters were delicious and we loved the drinks! One of their signature drinks is the Volcano and a lot of them include a fire show or dry ice demonstration which was cool.

On one of the days we went to the Miami Seaquarium! I’d been here before and it’s really neat. There are lots of dolphin shows as well as plenty of other animal exhibits like flamingos, whales, sea lions, seals, and more!

Later that day we headed over to Bayside Marketplace which has a ton of shops, restaurants, and attractions. One of these is the Thriller Boat tours which is where I took this photo! I’d done a Miami boat tour before and they’ve both been fun. Here’s the link to where I booked ours through Trip Advisor!

Dinner that evening was one of my favorite parts of the trip! It was SO GOOD and we had such a good time together. We ate at Mignonette Miami and I cannot recommend this place enough! Here’s the link to the website.

We started off with a bottle of Rosé from Italy and it was great! We then ordered the Lobster Deviled Eggs and Oysters before splitting the Lobster Tail entrée. SO so good.

After dinner we went to Bunbury, a restaurant and bar for another drink. The vibe of this place was cool and they served their checks inside of old books which was unique! I didn’t get a great photo (the lighting was dark) but here’s their website!

The next day we went to Hard Rock Stadium for a Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots game. We had such a great time at the game! The stadium was very interesting but honestly, kinda out in the middle of nowhere. We had a really hard time getting an Uber back to our hotel from the game. They direct rideshare riders to a parking lot to wait for rides - really not the best system. So if you are relying on a rideshare, maybe book one ahead. Other than that, we had a great time!

On the last day, we spent some time at the pool and ate brunch on the rooftop before checking out of our hotel. Before heading to the airport to catch out night flight, we went to the Frost Science Museum + Planetarium! The website is linked here. If you’re going without kids, you probably only need a few hours here so we had the perfect amount of time. I was surprised by the aquarium section here - lots of cool marine life exhibits!

And that’s a wrap on this travel guide!
